Defending the Reich

DTR_Update_101a.EXE Updated game engine and files.
DTR_Changes_101.TXT List of changes.
Download and save these files to your desktop or other folder, open and extract into your Defending the Reich folder. The patch will default to copy the new files into C:\Program Files (x86)\Decisive-Point\Defending the Reich or C:\Program Files\HPS Simulations\Defending the Reich. Change the default folder if your Defending the Reich folder is located elsewhere.

If you receive an error concenering: 'ActiveX', install this file using the instructions provided.
 
You may also try to install DirectX directly from the Microsoft web site: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35.
If successful, you do not need to download or install this patch.
 
NOTE: If using this patch, these system files MUST go into the appropriate Windows system folder in order to install properly.
This will be either: C:\Windows\System32 (32-bit systems), or C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (64-bit systems).
If you get a 'Could not install/register' type error in steps 4-6 below, this indicates that they are probably in the wrong folder.
DTR_DLL.ZIP When the Dialog box pops up click the [Run WinZip] button and follow these steps (also in the readme file: 'DTR Vista inst.txt'):

Step 1:
Unzip the three DLL files into your C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder.
Step 2a:
- Win7 or prior: Press Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories.
- Win8 or after: Bring up 'Search' (in the charms) and type 'cmd'. The Commmand Prompt icon should appear below the text box. Do not hit [Enter].
Step 2b:
Right Click on Command Prompt (or icon) > Run as Administrator. (This MUST be run as Administrator!)
Step 3:
Type 'cd C:\Windows\System32' or 'cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64'and hit [Enter]
Step 4:
Type 'regsvr32 ddraw.dll' and hit [Enter]
Step 5:
Type 'regsvr32 dsound.dll' and hit [Enter]
Step 6:
Type 'regsvr32 dx7vb.dll' and hit [Enter]
Step 7:
Run the game to insure that the update worked.

DTR-DirectX7Patch.exe Step 1:
Download the patch file to a temporary folder or your desktop.
Step 2:
Run the file (either double-click or right click and select 'Run').
Step 3:
The installer will automatically install the system files.
Step 4:
Run the game to insure the update worked.
