"You are about to embark upon the
Great Crusade... The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers
of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our
brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other fronts you will bring about the
destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over
oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.
Your task will not be an easy one. Your
enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight
savagely."

HPS Simulations presents
HPS Simulations and John Tiller are proud to announce the release of
Squad Battles: Eagles Strike which includes contains 30 scenarios covering the fighting by the Americans from D-Day through the Bulge and the end of the war in Europe.
|
In the summer of 1944, after four years of German occupation, the Americans were ready to strike at the heart of Fortress Europa and help end the war. This
struggle would pit the Americans against the Germans from the beaches and
boscage of Normandy to the Ardennes and beyond. The American soldier would have to face the German Panzers which had ruled the length and breadth of the German conquest and find a way to prevail. This strike of the American eagle would help bring the German Reich to its knees. |

"When I said that British
fighter-bombers had shot up my tanks with 40mm shells, the Reichsmarschall who
felt himself touched by this, said: 'That's completely impossible. The Americans
only know how to make razor blades.' I replied: 'We could do with some of those
razor blades, Herr Reichsmarschall.'"

"If you don't like to fight, I don't want you around. You'd better get out before I kick you out.
...You've got to have more than guts to lick the enemy. You must also have brains.
...We licked the Germans in Africa and Sicily because we had brains as well as guts. We're going to lick them in Europe for the same reason."

"Eagles Strike stands out from the other World War II tactical games in terms of its intensity and focus on individual soldiers. The game discards panoramic sweeps of units for the grim details of the young men at the sharp end. Play is engrossing either solo or PBEM. As such, it is a must for any game library.
Score: 10 out of 10."
