Point of Attack (Tactical Studies Series)

The flagship title in the Tactical Studies Series, Point of Attack (POA) is the most comprehensive and detailed combat simulation available on the commercial market.

Partially developed in association with the various branches of the United States military, particularly the United States Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the objective of POA is to provide the highest level of realism and fidelity possible, across the widest spectrum of operations. While, at the same time basing the models firmly on objective and empirical, as opposed to subjective and abstract, data and properties.

It is a one of a kind product: designed for hard-core simulation, but still accessible to almost any level of wargamer with an interest in modern warfare.

Point of Attack is a 'game' unlike any other ever available for the civilian market.

It is not for everyone: it is a product designed to accurately model the minute intricacies of modern weapons systems, command and control, Fog of War, and planning to a degree which casual gamers may find cumbersome, even excessive.

POA values 'brutal' realism above all else.

But What About?
Users can edit and to customize many of the data tables including TO&E's and force structures, leaders, nationality values, weather, and the TEC (terrain effects). Some complicated tables, however, such as for weapons and ammunition, may only be viewed.

All titles in the TSS series, including POA, include the both the geomorphic map creator (to create and edit geomorphic tiles), and the integrated Tactical Mapbuilder (to create and edit stand-alone maps or including of specific real-world locations). The Tactical MapBuilder also lets users edit the graphics symbols both for terrain and units.
